Solo in Time
TAP DANCE & FLAMENCO
Ever since
Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk, the Broadway hit that catapulted him to stardom, Savion Glover has thrilled audiences with his inventiveness, precision and incomparable steps. He uses his tap shoes as instruments and sound as a form of dance.
In his new show,
Solo in Time, Glover marries the rhythms of flamenco with his very own HooFeRz style that made him famous. He is backed by his new band, Bare Soundz (double bass, percussion and guitar), dancers Marshall Davis Jr. and Cartier Williams, and flamenco artist La Conja.
“The evening demonstrates his sincerity and curiosity; he is still searching for ways not merely to showcase tap, but to strip it to its essence. (...) Mr. Glover has found a potent meeting point between his unadorned, musical approach to tap and flamenco’s raw passion.”
