Montréal, May 13, 2008 – Place des
Arts is proud to support the Festival de Lanaudière, which
will present its 31st edition from July 5 to August 3 in the
Amphithéâtre de Lanaudière, the Musée
d’art de Joliette and about a dozen churches in neighbouring
municipalities.
The festival’s 2008 program will include 26 concerts
highlighting many renowned artists and musical ensembles from
Québec and around the world in performances of symphonic,
chamber, opera, jazz and world music. Major ensembles from
Québec that will perform include the Orchestre symphonique
de Montréal, Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand
Montréal, Orchestre symphonique de Québec, Violons du
Roy and Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal.
The program will also include four outdoor film-music evenings
featuring music from four hit movies—Le Peuple
migrateur, Chicago, Les Triplettes de
Belleville and La Vie en rose. Place des Arts is
proud to contribute financially, for the third year in a row, to
presenting these evenings under the stars, which are offered free
of charge.
As manager and owner of the Amphithéâtre de
Lanaudière since 1995, Place des Arts strives to offer the
public a pleasant environment by continually improving the
landscaping, infrastructure and stage equipment of this exceptional
venue known for its superior acoustic qualities. Place des Arts is
also responsible for the hall’s artistic program during
periods outside the Festival de Lanaudière.
