Our Halls of Fame
Detailed information on the halls of Place des Arts:
|
|
|
Place des Arts is Canada's most
unique cultural complex. It is comprised of five prestigious and
multifaceted halls, Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier, Théâtre
Maisonneuve, Théâtre Jean-Duceppe, the
Studio-théâtre and the Cinquième salle each
with its own distinct technical characteristics, and all
interconnected by an underground network of corridors and
passageways. In all, the complex occupies a total area of over
100,000 square metres on what is commonly known as the Place des
Arts plaza. The complex also houses a number of rehearsal halls, a
three-level underground parking garage, extensive warehousing
facilities, the busiest box office in Quebec, a café-bistro
and resto-bar, various gift and souvenir boutiques, a cultural
information centre, as well as the Musée d'art contemporain
de Montréal. And, Place des Arts' esplanade is a veritable
open-air oasis in the heart of the big city, providing the perfect
backdrop for countless outdoor shows and celebrated festivals. From
the most intimate recitals, to the grandest gala performances,
there's something for everyone at Place des Arts.
