Didy Veldman was in her early twenties when she read The Little Prince. Like many adults, she was surprised by the existential questions raised by what she presumed was a simple children's story. After several re-readings, she felt the urge to translate into movement its special atmosphere, its poetry and purity. "I feel the need to keep certain narrative elements," she explains, "but not the need to be overly literal. For me, The Little Prince is the story of a rediscovery. I would therefore like to focus on certain aspects of our behaviour and life choices, so as to question them in a spirit similar to that of the book. But this is only the starting point. Who knows where it will all lead?"

A drop-off zone on St. Urbain Street
People with reduced mobility have easier access to Place des Arts with the opening of a drop-off zone that has been specially designed and configured to meet their needs, located at 1600 St. Urbain Street. They are able to use outdoor and indoor ramps to access the various concert halls.
Individuals requiring the use of a wheelchair must go to the central security desk, or to the entrance of the Maison symphonique for performances taking place in that venue. There are a limited number of wheelchairs available.
Reserved spaces in the indoor parking lot
Place des Arts has reserved spaces in its indoor parking lot for people with reduced mobility who possess an accessible parking permit. These spaces are located on the three levels of the P-1 lot, close to an elevator leading to the venue entrance level. Additional spaces are located in section P of the P 2 lot on the main foyer level leading to the concert halls.
Personalized service
During shows, a member of the ushering staff is designated to assist people with reduced mobility. Customers requiring assistance must present themselves at the entrance to the halls to get help.
