We do not share your personal information with others, except with your consent and in the following situations:
• Event providers. We sell event tickets on our behalf and on behalf of others. The venues, promoters, resident companies, artists’ representatives, fan clubs and others who are involved in, produce or bring you events are known as “ event providers.” When an event provider wishes to present an event, it provides the Société de la Place des Arts de Montréal with details about the event, including the quantities and prices of the tickets that it wishes to sell. The Société de la Place des Arts de Montréal charges the ticket price to the customer and remits to the event provider the ticket price proceeds. In addition, when you purchase tickets, or attempt to do so, purchase tickets and services from, or using goods and services provided by, the event providers, Société de la Place des Arts de Montréal communicates personal information to event providers using secure connections. The event providers may use your information, or provide you with information or any other important event-related communications, such as a notice if there is a cancellation or change in the date and time of the event, and for any other ticketing-related purposes. Both the Société de la Place des Arts de Montréal and the event provider collect the information needed to provide you with these important notices and to address customer service problems, such as providing you with assistance if you lose your tickets. Event providers are subject to applicable privacy legislation, which may include the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada) and the Act respecting the Protection of personal information in the private sector (Québec). The event providers are required to comply with their obligations under laws applicable to their business, including privacy legislation. In addition, event providers may have their own privacy policy that governs their use of your personal information. If you want to learn about a particular event provider’s privacy policy, or if you do not want to receive any further communications from an event provider, or if you have other questions for an event provider, you should contact the event provider directly.
• Authorized service providers. We may share your personal information with authorized service providers that perform certain services on our behalf. These services include fulfilling orders, processing credit card payments, delivering packages, providing customer service and marketing assistance, performing business and sales analysis, supporting our website functionality, and supporting contests, sweepstakes, surveys and other features offered through our website. These service providers may have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but are not permitted to share or use such information for any other purposes. We require all of our service providers to comply with the safeguards described in this Policy.
• Business partners. With your consent, we may also share your personal information with business partners to offer you products, services, promotions, contests and/or sweepstakes through our website or our services, such as discounts and special offers in restaurant and hotels. If you are interested in such offers, the business partners will be identified to you at the time you make a purchase or decide to participate in an offer or program being offered through them. When you elect to participate in a particular merchant’s offer or program, you authorize us to provide your e-mail address and other information relevant to the offer or program to that merchant. These businesses may use your personal information in accordance with their own privacy policies. If you want to learn about a particular merchant’s privacy policies, or you do not want to receive communications from a particular merchant, you should contact that merchant directly. Your personal information is provided only to those businesses in whose offers you elect to participate, and not to other businesses advertising on our website.

For example, only authorized employees are permitted to access personal information, and they can do so only to the extent such access is required for permitted business activities. Use of cookies and other technologies to collect information
We use various technologies to collect information from your computer and about your activities on our website.
• Information collected automatically. We automatically collect information from your browser when you visit our website. This information includes your IP address, browser type and language, access times, the content of any undeleted cookies that your browser previously accepted from us (see “Cookies” below), and the referring website address.
• Cookies. When you visit our website, we may assign your computer a “cookie” (a small unique-identifier text file) or series of cookies, to facilitate access to our site and to personalize your online experience. For example, when you sign in to our website, we will record your e-mail address, and the name on your account with the Société de la Place des Arts de Montréal in the cookie file on your computer. We also may include web beacons in promotional e-mail messages or newsletters to determine whether messages have been opened and acted upon. A web beacon is a small file placed on a web page that allows a website to perform various tasks, including counting users who have viewed that page, or to access cookies. We may also receive an anonymous identification number if you visit our site from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website. The information we obtain in this manner enables us to customize the services we offer our website visitors, so as to deliver targeted advertisements and to measure the overall effectiveness of our online advertising, or other activities.
• Information collected by third-party advertising companies. We may allow third-party advertising companies, including ad networks, to display advertisements on our site. These companies may use tracking technologies, such as cookies, to collect anonymous information about users who view or interact with their advertisements.
